How We Know Jesus Is Coming Back To Earth Soon

Tue 28 Nov 2023

Do you ever wonder about the future? Many people around the world share a common belief that Jesus Christ will return to Earth. How do we know this? Let's explore a few key reasons that give believers confidence that Jesus is coming back soon.

  1. Biblical Prophecies: The Bible text for true Christians contains numerous prophecies about Jesus' second coming. In the New Testament, particularly in the Gospels and the Book of Revelation, Jesus himself foretells his return. In Matthew 24:30, he says, "Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." (New King James Version - NKJV)
  2. Signs of the Times: Throughout the Bible, there are descriptions of specific signs and events that will precede the second coming of Jesus. We can see these signs unfolding in the world today. These signs include wars, famines, earthquakes, and moral decline, as mentioned in Matthew 24:6-8. Observing these events, we feel a sense of urgency and anticipation.
  3. Israel's Role: Many biblical scholars point to the re-establishment of Israel as a nation in 1948 as a significant indicator. The Bible suggests that the existence of Israel is tied to end-time events. In Matthew 24:32-34, Jesus uses the analogy of a fig tree to explain that when its branches become tender and it puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. Similarly, we understand that the re-emergence of Israel is a sign that the return of Jesus is drawing near.
  4. Global Awareness: In today's interconnected world, information travels quickly. Events happening in one corner of the globe can impact people worldwide. This global awareness for some aligns with their belief that when Jesus returns, the whole world will witness it simultaneously. Although this connectivity of our world fuels the belief that we are moving closer to the fulfilment of biblical prophecies, there is no reason to confine God to this.

The belief that Jesus is coming back to Earth soon is rooted in a combination of biblical prophecies, signs of the times, the role of Israel, and the global awareness of current events. While many, Christians find hope and reassurance in these beliefs, inspiring them to live with purpose and anticipation for the future, it is imperative that each person finds out how to prepare themselves for the best thing that will ever happen to the earth!
